Askea. 

 

Body

ISSUEThe applicant is requesting a change in zoning for the subject property from Residential Townhome District (RTD) to General Commercial (GC) for commercial use. The applicant is proposing to develop the subject property in a similar fashion as the adjoining commercial property to the east. The applicant is proposing one metal building similar to the existing metal buildings along Ask-Kay Drive.

 

BACKGROUND:  The Planning and Zoning Board heard the rezoning request at the April 13, 2015 meeting and made a recommendation for approval by a vote of 7-0. The rezoning request was subsequently tabled at the May 18, 2015 and June 15, 2015 Mayor and Council meetings at the request of the applicant.

 

RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTIONCommunity Development recommends approval of the proposed rezoning subject to adherence to all provisions and requirements for the General Commercial (GC) zoning district as outlined in the Zoning Ordinance and the following condition:

 

1.                     The following uses shall not be permitted on the subject parcel:
