Approval to purchase a new Motorola MCC7500 radio console system from Motorola Solutions Inc. 500 W. Monroe St. Chicago, IL. 60661, for the E911 Center, which was approved in the FY2020 CIP for $74,992.

ISSUE:  The additional console is needed to continue to provide the best level of service to our citizens and first responders from our E911 center.

The purchase of the Motorola MCC7500 radio console system was approved in the FY2020 CIP in the amount of $76,611.  The project came in under budget at $74,992.  Total cost over the five year period will be $102,415.  Annual costs are:

 

Year 1                     -$74,992.00

Year 2                     - $6,617.00

Year 3                     - $6,772.00

Year 4                     - $6,934.00

Year 5                     - $7,100.00

 

BACKGROUND:  When the Police Department was built in 1997 the E911 center was built with four fully functional consoles, with a fifth partial console for later expansion.  It is now time to make the fifth console fully functional to assist in the operations of the E911 center during busy times and major incidents.

 

RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:  Staff recommends approval of the purchase of the Motorola MCC7500 radio console system.
