Title
Public Hearing - Approval of code amendments to the City Code of Ordinances to move variance requests from the Mayor and City Council to the License and Variance Board beginning July 14, 2021.

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND:
The proposed code amendments will move all variance requests and appeals of administrative decisions from the City's Code of Ordinances from the Mayor and City Council to License and Variance Board for action. These variance requests include variances from the Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance, Property Maintenance Code, Stream Buffer Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations and Urban Design District. In addition, the proposed code amendments will rename the License Board to the License and Variance Board.
Should the proposed code amendment be approved by the City Council, the variance requests will begin to be heard by the License and Variance Board at the July 14, 2021meeting. The proposed text amendments have been sent to the City Attorney for review and comment.
RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Community Development recommends approval of the proposed code changes related to the variance process.
