The Smyrna Recycling Center
Curbside Recycling programs
Glass Recycling
Keep Smyrna Beautiful:
Education
Citizen engagement and involvement
Alternative fuels:
Biodiesel used at the Public Works Facility;
Energy Efficiency:
LED traffic lights
“Lights Off” and “Power Down” policies
No Idling policy
Tree Board:
15 years designated as a Tree City USA community
Community Garden and Farmers Market
Fire Station 5 has a LEED Certified designation
Biking and Walking Trails
BACKGROUND: The resolution outlines the programs the City of Smyrna is currently doing for sustainability. The resolution also indicates a willingness by the City to look into other programs that will increase the sustainability of the City.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Staff Recommends Approval.
