ISSUE:  The applicant is seeking approval to annex approximately 19.8  total acres.  Four parcels # 17047800010 located at 4300 King Springs Road, Smyrna GA 18.7 acres, parcel # 17047800030 located at 4240 King Springs Road, Smyrna, GA 2.8 acres, parcel # 17047800240 King Springs Road (Vacant tract with no address) Smyrna, GA 1.1 acres and parcel # 17045900030 located at 4217 King Valley Drive, Smyrna GA 2.4 acres - all that tracts or parcels of land lying and being in Land Lots 459 and 478 of the 17th District 2nd Section, Cobb County, Georgia
 
 
BACKGROUND:  The applicant is Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, application submission date was May 22, 2014.  Community Development has confirmed this property is contiguous to the city and does meet qualification in accordance with section 36-36-21 of the Georgia Code.  The Non-objection letter has been received from Cobb County.
 
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:  In accordance with Section 36-36-21 of the Georgia Code, Community Development recommends approval of the annexation of the subject property under the 100% method.
