ISSUE: Approval to purchase a 2019 Mack TE64R chassis sanitation truck with a Heil Dura-Pack 5000 32 cubic yard rear loader . The sanitation truck is funded in the FY20 vehicle replacement fund for a total cost of $230,529.00. The vehicle and equipment purchase will be through Sourcewell Cooperative - Heil Contract # ThC-112014- Carolina Environmental Systems inc.
BACKGROUND: The Public Works Department was authorized $227,000.00 in the FY20 vehicle replacement fund for the replacement of 2006 Mack sanitation truck (VIN 4574). The vehicle and equipment will be purchased using the Sourcewell Cooperative Heil Contract # THC-112014. The vehicle and equipment has already been competitively bid through this cooperative contract. The vehicle and equipment will be purchased from Carolina Environmental Systems inc. (Austell Ga.) which meet all cooperative contract pricing.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: The Public Works Director, Staff and Purchasing recommends approval of this purchase from Carolina Environmental Systems inc. 500 Lee Industrial Blvd. Austell, Georgia,30168 in the amount $230,529.00 and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents
