Adoption of the 2018 millage rate of 8.99 mills

ISSUE:
The 2018 millage rate needs to be formally adopted by Council.
BACKGROUND:
The FY19 budget that was approved by council included revenue projections based on
8.99 mills. This is the formal adoption of the 8.99 millage rate.
Information was received from Cobb County on June 28, 2018. Per the information
provided, the City would need to roll back the millage rate to 8.272 to not advertise a tax
increase.
The official notice, and all required information, was posted in the MDJ on July 11th, and
July 18th. Required public meetings were held on July 18th at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on
July 25th at 10 a.m
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:
Adoption of the 2018 millage at 8.99 mills.
