BACKGROUND: Public Works requested bids for the construction of a new recycling center. Pricing for the project was divided into three sections with two alternatives and a lump sum credit alternative with the possibility of a split bid. Bid award for Camdur Building Group totals $345,180.00 which includes building modifications, skylights and LED lighting. Bid award for P.E. Structures totals $438,064.43 and includes site work, landscaping, and a lump sum credit. Both bidders will work in tandem to complete this project. Three vendors submitted bids for this project.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Public Works, Purchasing and Croy Engineering have reviewed the bid submittal's and recommend Mayor and Council award RFP 14-025 Recycling Center Construction to the two lowest bidders Camdur Building Group and P.E.Structures for a total bid amount between the two for $783,244.43 and authorize the Mayor to execute any associated documents.
