Body

ISSUE

Award RFP 16-011 for the replastering of Tolleson Pool to the firm of Aquatic Consulting and Equipment (A.C.E) at a cost of $55,410.00.

BACKGROUND

The City's 375,000 gallon seasonal, outdoor pool needs its plaster surface replaced. This award will also include sealing the gutter system and reanchoring handrails at steps and ladders. A mandatory site visit served as a prerequisite to the bid process. Seven (7) commercial pool repair companies were solicited with the City receiving 3 bid responses. Of these, Aquatic Consulting and Equipment (A.C.E.) was the lowest responsive, qualified bidder. This firm has proven, successful experience with the City on other pool projects in the past.

Funding for this $55,410.00 project will come from  the City's Capital Improvement fund ($44,000.00) and 2011 Parks Improvement SPLOST funding ($11,410.00)

The Purchasing Manager and Parks and Recreation Department staff after review of the bid responses recommend A.C.E as the vendor for this project with work to commence as soon as is practical.
