ISSUE: Award RFP 15-021 Smyrna ATMS (Automated Traffic Management System) to the lowest bidder World Fiber Technologies for $1,602,010.89 and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents.
BACKGROUND: Public Works requested bids for the installation of all fibers, conduits, controls, poles, cameras and other associated materials, equipment and labor necessary for the implementation and installation of the Smyrna ATMS (Automated Traffic Management System) and Traffic Control Center for the City of Smyrna. Two vendors submitted bids as follows:
World Fiber Technologies Inc. $1,602,010.89
RJ Haynie & Associates $1,911,622.50
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Croy Engineering, Public Works and Purchasing have reviewed the bids and recommend Mayor and Council award RFP 15-021 Smyrna ATMS to the lowest bidder World Fiber Technologies for $1,602,010.89 and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents.
