ISSUE: Accept the provisions of the Cobb County Comprehensive Transportation Plan 2040 Resolution and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents.
BACKGROUND:
Cobb County DOT has recently completed the Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update 2040, and has requested that all Cities and the County formally accept the CTP. The infrastructure plan will enable us to meet the changing needs of our community through a performance based approach to system investments, improving access, safety and security, managing congestion, driving economic competitiveness and leading with cost effective solutions. The projects included in the CTP that impact Smyrna specifically have already been included in our SPLOST programming, and so have indirectly been accepted. This effort will formally accept the CTP via resolution.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Public Works Staff and Croy Engineering have reviewed the Comprehensive Transportation Plan and Resolution and recommend acceptance of the Cobb County Comprehensive Transportation Plan 2040 Resolution and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents.
