ISSUE: Content Management System (CMS) launched with City website in 2009 requires upgrade for compatibility with web browser and device changes and evolution.
BACKGROUND: The current CMS is now five years old and it is time for upgrading to meet changes in browsers and device capabilities for both backend interface and end-user experience. Timing of this upgrade meets with anticipated life of original launch CMS. Robust upgrade is available through current provider, Vision Internet, negating architectural remodel and/or full redevelopment or additional costs. Upgrade includes all new visionCMS
Platform with perpetual upgrades, Graphic Redesign, sitemap, responsive design and staff training ($17,000 for platform, $12,000 for Graphic Redesign, $4,000 for Sitemap and $2,000 for Responsive Design).
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Request approval of needed, budgeted and planned CMS upgrade with Vision Internet and authorize Mayor to execute related documents.
