Title
Recommendation to utilize cooperative contract for Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue and Other Fleet Vehicles under Bid 11-10-1202 of the Florida Sheriff's Association, to purchase Two (2) Arrow XT Fire Engines from Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. through Ten 8 Fire & Safety Equipment of GA.

Body
ISSUE:  The SPLOST funds were approved through a passing voted initiative that allocates monies for Public Safety apparatus and equipment purchase.

BACKGROUND:  Two Type I Demo Pumpers are available for purchase through Pierce Manufacturing. Using the Florida Sheriff's Association (FSA) contract allowing agencies for contract purchases in cities that include Albany, Clayton County, Milton, Caartersville, Summerville and Waycross in the State of Georgia, allows for standardization of pricing. Since the State of Georgia does not have a standardized contract for emergency vehicles, using the FSA contract enables guaranteed pricing under purchasing ordinances, rules and regulations.

RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:  In conjunction with Croy Engineering, purchase two (2) demo Pierce Arrow Type I Pumpers with the SPLOST funds.
