Award bid RFQ for Brawner Hall floor joist re-enforcement to the lowest bidder, Big Bear Construction, for $68,800.00 to continue the repairs to the existing floor joist system and authorize the Mayor to execute any and all related documents.

ISSUE: Phase 2 of floor joist reenforcement in sections B, C, D, E, and F of the building.
BACKGROUND: Parks and Recreation requested bids to continue the repairs of the floor joist system on the first floor of Brawner Hall. Brawner Hall is a historic building that was renovated for public use. Some repair was completed in FY 2016 after a floor system failure. This project is being submitted to further stabilize the floor system. This is phase two of a larger project. Three vendors submitted quotes as follows:
Big Bear Construction: 68,800.00
Southern Ventures: 77,916.00
Peachtree Construction: 135,750.00
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Croy Engineering and Parks & Recreation have reviewed the quotes and recommend award of bid to the low bidder, Big Bear Construction for $68,800.00 and to authorize the Mayor to execute any and all related documents.
