BACKGROUND: Public Works requested bids for a 13 Cy rear loading garbage truck with a Heil Body, three vendors submitted bids and alternate bodies as follows:
Peach State Truck Center Heil Body $122,810.00 New Way Body $117,560.00
Rush Truck Center Heil Body $128,109.00 New Way Body $122,859.00
Nextran Truck Centers Heil Body $137,040.42 New Way Body $131,790.42
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Public Works staff and Purchasing have reviewed the bids and recommend award of RFP 17-031 Rear Loader Garbage Truck to the lowest bidder Peach State Truck for $122,810.00 and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents.
