Adoption of 2017 millage rate of 8.99 mills.

ISSUE:
The 2017 millage rate needs to be formally adopted by Council.
BACKGROUND:
The FY18 budget that was approved by council included revenue projections based on 8.99 mills. This is the formal adoption of the 8.99 millage rate.
Information was received from Cobb County on June 29, 2017. Per the information provided, the City would need to roll back the millage rate to 8.498 to not advertise a tax increase.
The official notice, and all required information, was posted in the MDJ on July 24th, and July 31st. Required public meetings were held on July 31st at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on August 7th at 10 a.m.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:
Adoption of the 2017 millage at 8.99 mills.
