ISSUE:  Councilmember Doug Stoner announced at the February 5, 2018 Council Meeting, he would be stepping down to run for State Office.  He has sent an email to the City Clerk's Office tendering his resignation as of February 15, 2018.  The Cobb County Board of Elections has sent a Contract to hold this Special Election for the City of Smyrna during the State Primary Election May 22, 2018.   Qualifying dates will be March 5 and 6, 2018; 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with an hour for lunch 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM and March 7, 2018; 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM.  The Qualifying Fee will be set at $567.00 which is 3% of the gross salary of the office.
