ISSUE: Ten-Forensic Services will provide evidence collection for blood and urine draws of suspects in Driving while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. The company also provides services of taser dart removal, suspect sex kit collections, and employee drug screen. The police department will primarily use the for the blood and urine draws. This service is needed due to the fact the hospitals are refusing to conduct draws without a search warrant and the cost for their services exceed the cost for Ten-Eight Forensic. The Ten-Eight Forensic technicians will also appear in court to explain draw procedures and establish chain of custody. Ten-Eight Forensic Services, Inc. is located at 264 Jamestown Drive, Douglasville, GA 30134.
BACKGROUND: Ten-Eight Forensic Services will provide an on-call service for blood and urine evidence draws from suspects of driving while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. This service has become too costly and difficult to obtain from local hospitals with most wanting a court issued search warrant, even when it is not required by law.
