ISSUE: City of Smyrna needs to replace staging and Community Relations, with agreement of Parks & Recreation staff, proposes to upgrade and supply staff with equipment equal to the task of staging professional bands and reduce man hours required for setup while expanding setup options, show delivery and overall production capabilities.
BACKGROUND: City of Smyrna, Community Relations Department, upon proposal to and review/approval by the Finance, Administration and Community Relations Committee presented proposal for the purchase of a mobile hydraulic stage to City Council. City Council review in work session, provided approval to move forward with the bid process.
The Community Relations department requested proposals for a 24’ x 20’ mobile hydraulic stage to be used for the outdoor summer concert series along with other appropriate City uses. The RFP was submitted to three mobile stage companies and posted on the City of Smyrna website. One proposal was received from Stageline Mobile Stage Inc. located in Quebec, Canada. Stageline is a world-wide leader in the design and manufacture of mobile hydraulic stages and has supplied equipment to numerous North American and U.S. cities that include a U.S. military base.
