Approval of Ordinance #2018-07 - Annexation request (100%) of owners requesting annexation) - Land Lot 519, 17th  District, 2nd Section, Cobb County, a total of 0.426 Acre Tract, located at 2451 Adams Road, Smyrna Georgia 30080, this property will become part of Ward 3 and the effective date will be May 1, 2018.

ISSUE:  The applicants are seeking approval to annex a 0.426 acre tract of property, on land lot 519, parcel number 17051900960 located at 2451 Adams Road, Smyrna, Georgia 30080.  They are requesting to annex and rezone this property, currently zoned R-20 (Cobb County) to Smyrna RAD Conditional for two (2) residential units.  The principal owner is Ronald S. Dickinson.

 

Jay Northrup Intergovernmental Coordinator, Cobb County Community Development Agency, Planning Division sent an email stating that he had been informed by the Commissioner who's district the proposed property requested for annexation is located.  The County would not be sending a Notice of Response regarding the annexation application for 2451 Adams Drive.  In accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement on Land Use, they did not respond within the required timeframe, so the city may proceed with the annexation as if they did not object.

RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:  Staff recommends approval
