ISSUE: Mayor and City Council authorization to approve and subsequent installation of traffic calming devices (Speed Humps) on Carolyn Drive and Spring Drive.
BACKGROUND: A speed study was requested to be conducted on Carolyn Drive to determine whether traffic speeds exceed the thresholds allowed in our traffic calming policy. The results indicated in a one week period that one threshold was met where speeds exceeded 85%, 11 MPH above the speed limit, and the threshold of 5%, 15 MPH over the speed limit, was not met.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Based upon the 85% threshold being met authorization is required by Mayor and Council to authorize the installation of traffic calming devices, (Speed Humps), on the roadways of Carolyn Drive and Spring Drive.
