Appointment of Frank Martin as a permanent member and Kevin Moore as an alternate member on the License and Variance Board

ISSUE:
Due to recent staff changes, the License and Variance Board needs another permanent board member and another alternate board member.
BACKGROUND:
The License and Variance Board is made up of three permanent members and a few alternate members from the City Staff. The current permanent members are City Administrator Tammi Saddler Jones and Fire Chief Roy Acree. The Board is in need of another permanent member and it is recommended that our new Public Works Director Frank Martin be appointed. Frank would be taking the place of our former Public Works Director Scott Stokes who was a permanent board member.
The current alternate members are Assistant City Administrator Scott Andrews, Police Chief David Lee, Deputy Fire Chief Brian Marcos, and Library Director Mary Moore. The alternate members serve as substitutes when the permanent members are unable to attend a board meeting. The Board is in need of another alternate member and it is recommended that our new City Engineer Kevin Moore. Kevin would be taking the place of our former City Engineer Eric Randall who was an alterate member.
Both Frank and Kevin have agreed to serve in this capacity.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:
Staff recommends the appointment of Frank Martin as a permanent member and Kevin Moore as an alternate member on the License and Variance Board.
