Recognition of Keep Smyrna Beautiful and Jonquil Garden Club

ISSUE: KSB Director, Janet Liberman, will recognize board members, Board Chairman Liz Davis and Shirley Priest, Jonquil Garden Club. Liz Davis and Shirley Priest will present the awards.
BACKGROUND:
Keep America Beautiful Awards 2018
30,001 -100,000 - Affiliate Award. KSB was recognized for working to establish a litter-free norm in the community. The Litter Free Concerts, the Adopt-A-Mile program, 1800 volunteers and the Garden tour were highlighted.
Sustained Excellence Award: KSB won the Affiliate Award in 2016, 2017, and 2018. They also scored a 90 or above on the judging sheets. Only 7 Affiliates were awarded this honor.
Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation Awards 2018 - 2nd Place for the Affiliate Award, Population 50,001-75,000 category. KSB was recognized for working to establish a litter-free norm the community. The Litter Free Concerts, the Adopt-A-Mile program, 1800 volunteers and the Garden tour were highlighted.
The Jonquil Garden Club was awarded 3rd Place from the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation Awards in the Non Profit Community Beautification Award Category for their work on re-establishing the Sensory Garden.
