BACKGROUND:
The Citizen's Police Academy is an 11-week training program offered by the Smyrna Police Department to members of the community in order to familiarize them with the operations of the department and law enforcement in general. It includes exposure to all functions of the Smyrna Police Department, including traffic enforcement, jail operations, the 911 center, use of force training, crime scene response, the justice system and criminal procedure, and the opportunity to ride with an officer on patrol.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:
Presentation of Certificates to Citizen's.
