ISSUE: The City Council is voting to approve funding for a new skateboard park, with equipment and installation provided by Skatepark Company, Inc. The proposed skatepark will be located at Taylor-Brawner Park on 3180 Atlanta Rd. The total amount of funding will include the equipment and installation, but not future maintenance of the park.
BACKGROUND: At the request of Council, Parks and Recreation sought out skatepark equipment for Taylor-Brawner Park within a $200,000 budget limit. After extensive research and cost comparison, the Parks and Recreation Director is proposing the purchase and installation of skatepark equipment for $250,000.
RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION: Staff recommends approval
