ISSUE:  Requested street closings are to ensure a safe environment for this Smyrna Parks and Recreation family event.  There will be a parade that will start behind city hall, make its way down King Street and around the Village Green traffic circle.  The annual tree lighting will take place around the large tree erected over the fountain in front of the community center; inflatables set up in the grassy area along Atlanta Rd and Village Green Circle; and performances throughout the night around the lit Christmas tree.

BACKGROUND:  This is an annual event put on by the Smyrna Parks and Recreation Department to kick off the holiday festivities.

RECOMMENDATION/REQUESTED ACTION:  Staff recommends approval of the road closures for this event.
