Resolution to apply to the Georgia Smart Communities Challenge to pursue grant funding and to fund the community match.

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND:
As part of the City’s application for the Georgia Smart Communities Challenge, a Resolution is needed to declare the City’s intent to apply for the grant and agree to fund the community match portion of the grant. Funds from the Georgia Smart Communities can help the city plan for a “smart” and technologically advanced future by planning for or completing a pilot project. This project will aid the governing body in strategically moving into the future. The City desires to pursue this grant funding and agree to fund the community match portion of the grant, if awarded.
RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION:
Approval to apply to the Georgia Smart Communities Challenge to pursue grant funding and to fund the community match.
