Proclamation in Recognition of Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month

Body

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND

Irene Barton, Exec Dir of Cobb Collaborative will be at meeting to accept Proclamation.

The Cobb Collaborative continues to grow their "Mind Your Mind" mental health campaign which is designed to raise awareness of mental health conditions, promote resiliency and reduce stigma. There is a deep level of concern about the mental health of our children and families in light of all of the impacts of the pandemic and the concurrent community-wide issues of race, equity and inclusion.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month is recognized in September, and they have requested the Proclamation be presented at the September 8 City Council meeting, just before the official Suicide Prevention Day on Sept 10, 2020.
