Approval to clarify and title the Committee on Appeals to be the Committee on Appeals / Public Safety Committee.

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: 

The Committee on Appeals, established by Mayor Derek Norton on January 21, 2020 was enacted to hear all Disciplinary Action Appeals including, but not limited to, appeals for Police and Fire employees. For clarification, the Committee will be titled as the Committee on Appeals / Public Safety Committee.  The current members of the Committee on Appeals are Chair / Councilmember Travis Lindley, Councilmember Austin Wagner and Councilmember Glenn Pickens.

 

RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION:  Approval to clarify and title the Committee on Appeals to the Committee on Appeals / Public Safety Committee.
