Proclamation in Recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Body

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.  President Ronald Reagan declared the month as such in 1988 to honor the unique grief of bereaved parents who suffer such a loss.  October 15th has been designated as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day to remember all the pregnancies and infants lost in order to heal and comfort during a time of pain and heartache and to have hope for the future.  Mr. Todd DeFeo, Smyrna resident in Ward 6, will accept the Proclamation in remembrance of his son, Thomas.
